In this semester, I find I keep using the word “visualize” to describe my work. The definition of visualize is: to form a picture of someone or something in your mind. By using the word visualize I mean, usually I start with an abstract concept draw from readings or based on writings, then I bring it into some new form where people can see what I am doing. For example, in the project “Flow”, I visualize the process of how a picture get spread on social media by present the users date of who has interacted with the picture and what marks they leave. And in my self-direct project, I visualize what is the viewers’ interpretation with my artwork by a collaborative project where the viewers can participate. I use visualization a lot because mostly my art practice lies in painting. I tend to communicate with other people in visual language.
